TIPS ON COOKIES & CACHES

The cookie is a small text file stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are where some preference information is stored. For PictureView, the cookie is used to store your personal group list. Sometimes it can become corrupted. Symptoms are:

1) Your personal group list disappears or cannot be replaced/edited.

2) The search feature returns a 'you must enter something to search for' error.

Solution: manually delete the cookie file from your hard drive and then make a new personal group list.

The cache is where the browser stores images and logos that it's downloaded in order to display html pages on your screen. Be advised that this means that any picture you've looked at is also stored in that cache folder. If this is a concern, set the cache to zero and/or empty your cache frequently. The cache and also store a page you don't want, such as an authorization denied page. If that happens, empty your cache.

To empty the cache click on the link on the Tips page.
