FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is PictureView? PictureView is ICNetCo's USENET news server system which provides convenient access to the newsgroups. PictureView does not sell individual pictures, files, or collections of images. PictureView does not scan, post, create, modify, or reproduce any files that appear on the newsgroups. PictureView is merely a service that sells access to the USENET news system. Where do the pictures come from? All the postings you see on the PictureView news system come from public newsgroups in USENET. These postings are entirely made by people outside of our control and direction. We do not select which postings arrive on our servers, nor do we alter the content of the postings. We do not scan, post, create,or modify any pictures that appear on the news servers ourselves. PictureView is a service which helps you to access the USENET in a manner which may be more convenient and efficient for you. Remember that anyone with USENET access can post anything to any group they wish. Therefore, if you are concerned either with the quality or content of any picture, please do not complain to us. Since we don't make any of the pictures, we can't fix any of them. How much does it cost? There are two types of membership: Basic and Premier. The Basic (PictureView) subscription costs $9.95 (United States dollars) per month ($8.00 per month for members whose accounts were created prior to June 2003). This entitles you to unlimited access to the PictureView news system using either an HTTP (web) or NNTP client. You are also entitled to analog dialup access to our nationwide network (billed on an hourly basis), and basic email services. You may continue to use your current ISP in conjunction with this membership. The Premier (ICNetCo) subscription costs US $25 per month. This entitles you to unlimited access to the PictureView news system using both an HTTP (web) and NNTP client. You are also entitled to analog or single channel ISDN dialup access to our nationwide network, with no hourly billing. You also get two (2) email accounts, accessible using either POP/SMTP or IMAP, and space for a personal web site. |
